Speed density is a tuning methodology where fuel and/or timing is determined by the speed (RPM) of the engine and the density (bar, psia, etc) of the intake air. &lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Many aftermarket [[standalone]] or [[piggyback]] systems use a speed density system, as well as older cars.  However, most modern factory vehicles use [[mass air flow]] systems. &lt;br /&gt;

Speed density requires tuning many maps for consistent results, such as air temperature compensation and engine volumetric efficiency.  Manifold pressure sensors do not react quickly to rapid changes in pressure.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
